Elijah Kai and Kamene Bacon's family
Our Story

Healing Hearts. Strengthening Families. Changing Generations.

How We Started

A blended family, healed from the inside out.

Before LifeLab was a program, it was a relationship. When Elijah and Kamene started dating, they made a decision most couples don't: to go inward first — healing their own old wounds and patterns before building a life together. That work became the foundation of their marriage, and of blending their family into one.

Elijah and Kamene's blended family together

Everything LifeLab hands to the families, teens, and returning citizens it serves started as something Elijah and Kamene had to learn how to give each other first.

The Founder

Elijah Kai

When Elijah Kai was eighteen years old he put a loaded gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

It didn't fire.

He spent the next twenty years trying to figure out why he was still here. Therapy. Religion. Hustle. Two marriages. A felony. Fourteen schools before high school. A life spent building a character convincing enough that nobody, including him, could see how much pain was underneath it.

The answer didn't come from any of those things.

It came the moment he stopped trying to fix himself and finally saw through the character he had spent a lifetime becoming. What remained in the quiet after that wasn't emptiness. It was everything he had been looking for. Present. Still. Already whole.

Now as a Spiritual Teacher and Divine Architect, he walks into the hardest rooms in the world — prisons, schools, boardrooms, and stages — and shows people the one thing nobody else has shown them.

The suffering was never who you are. The character was never you. And the peace you've been chasing your entire life has been underneath it this whole time.

He is the author of Already Whole and the co-founder of LifeLab.

He doesn't motivate audiences. He wakes them up.
